RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC women’s basketball players of the week for the first week of the season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Jaedyn Getman captured the Offensive Player accolade and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Elle Papahronis earned the Defensive Player award.

Getman averaged 34.0 points per game after she scored 45 against Northeastern State and 23 against Rogers State. The 45 points tied for the second-most in GAC history and third-most in school history. She went 15-for-26 from the floor and added nine rebounds. Against the Hillcats, she collected 14 rebounds. For the week, she went 20-for-20 from the free-throw line.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Elle Papahronis, G, Southwestern Oklahoma State, So., Edmond, Oklahoma
Papahronis grabbed a GAC-leading 25 rebounds last week after she registered 13 in a win against Rogers State and 12 against Northeastern State. In both games, her tally represented the high for either team. Against Northeastern State, she added six steals.
