NORMAN — Oklahoma outside linebacker Nik Bonitto was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press on Monday, while center Creed Humphrey earned third-team honors.

A redshirt sophomore, Bonitto has started all nine games in which he has played this season and has registered 10.0 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks among his 29 total stops. He leads the team with his 10 QB hurries, including one which forced the interception that sealed OU's Big 12 Championship win over No. 8 Iowa State on Dec. 19. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., product has compiled all 7.5 sacks and 8.5 of his TFLs in his last six contests, including a season-high 3.0 sacks against Kansas on Nov. 7.

Humphrey is an AP All-American for the second straight year. He was a consensus second-team All-American and a finalist for the Rimington Trophy last season. The redshirt junior from Shawnee, Okla., has started all 10 games this season and 36 in his career, including each of the last 35 contests dating back to the 2018 season. The 2020 Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year, who was also a first-team All-Big 12 selection by the league's coaches and media, has not allowed a sack on 373 pass plays this season according to PFF.
