NORMAN — Three University of Oklahoma football seniors – cornerback Tre Brown, running back Rhamondre Stevenson and defensive lineman LaRon Stokes – have been named to the Reese's Senior Bowl Top 250 watch list, it was announced Thursday.
Brown, a product of Tulsa, Okla., has played in 41 career games and made 23 starts (including all 14 games last season). He is responsible for 110 total career tackles (91 solo), one interception, 25 pass breakups, 7.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. Two of his biggest plays have come in key moments of eventual Big 12 Championship game victories: a fourth-quarter safety sack against Texas in 2018 and a come-from-behind tackle to preserve OU's fourth-quarter lead against Baylor in 2019.
Stevenson, a product of Las Vegas who attended junior college before arriving in Norman, rushed for 515 yards and six touchdowns in 13 games last season and led the nation by averaging 8.0 yards per carry (minimum 50 rushes). He notched two 100-yard rushing games last year, turning in a season-best total of 109 rushing yards and a touchdown on five carries at Kansas. He scored the winning touchdown in OU's 30-23 overtime victory over Baylor in the Big 12 Championship game.
Stokes, the 2019 Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year, started 10 games on the defensive line last season. A Tulsa product and junior college transfer from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Stokes was credited with 15 total tackles (six solo, nine assists), 4.5 TFLs, 0.5 sacks and one QB hurry. He tallied a season-high three stops at UCLA and against Iowa State.
The Senior Bowl is played annually in Mobile, Ala., showcasing the best NFL draft prospects of those collegiate players who have completed their eligibility. Oklahoma has supplied 115 players for the Senior Bowl since the game's inception in 1950.
