Player of the Week and Henderson State’s Axel Robertson captured Special Teams Player of the Week.
#theGAC FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Judd Barton, QB, Southern Arkansas, Jr., Alexandria, Louisiana
Barton threw two touchdown passes, ran for two scores and caught a 5-yard touchdown reception as the Muleriders shut out Northwestern Oklahoma State. He completed 15-of-19 passes for 247 yards and added 44 rushing yards. He has completed at least 70 percent of his passes in four of his last six games.
theGAC FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Clark Griffin, LB, Harding, Sr., Mountain Brook, Alabama
For the fourth-straight game, Griffin tallied at least 10 tackles after he made 10 stops in the Bisons’ 34-7 road win against East Central. He recorded 2.0 tackles-for-loss and a sack. For the sixth time this season, the Bison defense did not give up a touchdown. His 81 total tackles rank fourth in the GAC.
#theGAC FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Axel Robertson, K/P, Henderson State, Sr., Katy, Texas
Robertson punted five times with an average of 43.2 yards per kick in the Reddies’ 35-17 home win against Southwestern Oklahoma State. Four of the punts finished inside the 20-yard line with the fifth fair caught at the 21. Two punts finished inside the 10. He converted all five of his extra points.
