RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – With the 2024 Great American Conference men’s soccer regular season complete, the league announced the bracket and schedule for the GAC/MIAA Men’s Soccer Championships. For the fourth-straight year, Southern Nazarene hosts as regular-season champions. The event begins on Thursday with two semifinal contests from the Wanda Rhodes Sports Complex in Bethany, Oklahoma.
In the opening match, second-seeded Rogers State takes on Fort Hays State. The Hillcats and Tigers have squared off in the semifinals in each of the previous three GAC/MIAA with Rogers State winning the last two meetings. This season, the Hillcats scored a 1-0 road victory on October 3. The two played to a 1-1 draw on November 2.
In the second semifinal, the hosting Crimson Storm face Newman in the Jets’ inaugural appearance in the GAC/MIAA Championship field. The Jets scored a 5-3 victory on the opening day of conference play. On Saturday, needing a win to procure the top seed, the Crimson Storm scored twice in the game’s final seven minutes for a 2-0 home win.
