Last season, the Bisons finished second – two shots behind Henderson State – at the GAC Championships – then placed fifth at the NCAA Central/Midwest Regional. Led by Player of the Year Jose Peralta, the Bisons return three All-GAC golfers. Peralta collected four top-10 finishes, highlighted by a win at the Shadow Valley Invitational in March. Dennis Staykov placed on the Second Team and Jose Arzu earned Honorable Mention honors. Staykov recorded three top-10s, including a tie for sixth at the GAC Championships.
The Reddies picked up three first-place votes to take second in the poll. They won their fourth-straight GAC title and registered their 12th-straight regional appearance. Jacob Knowlton earned Second-Team All-GAC honors after collecting three top-10 results.
Arkansas Tech claimed two first-place votes and finished third. The Wonder Boys’ Landon Lawson returns after a season that featured an individual title at the GAC Championships. He became the fourth Tech male golfer to win the event. He posted three sub-par rounds as part of a two-shot win.
Southern Arkansas edged Southwestern Oklahoma State by a point for fourth place. Southern Arkansas placed sixth, followed by Arkansas-Monticello and Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Bulldogs bring back Jack Phillips after he garnered Second-Team All-GAC honors as a freshman. The Rangers return Mathieu Zerwin, a 2025 Honorable Mention All-GAC selection.
Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central rounded out the poll. The Savage Storm feature a new head coach in Charlie Means. The Tigers brought back their golf program for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
Four of the schools – Harding, Henderson State, Arkansas Tech and Southwestern Oklahoma State – begin fall play at The MULE, hosted by Central Missouri. The remaining six teams, plus the Wonder Boys, Bisons and Bulldogs head to Muskogee, Oklahoma for the Northeastern State Classic.
