A season ago, the Reddies captured their fifth-straight GAC Championship title. They won by 26 strokes. They went on to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the fourth-straight year. They return 2024-25 First Team All-GAC and WGCA Honorable Mention All American Lily Nelson. She registered seven top-10 finishes last season.
Harding collected two first-place votes and placed second in the poll. The Lady Bisons secured their third-straight appearance at the NCAA Regionals. They bring back a pair of 24-25 All-GAC selections in Sydney Kincade and Pilar Martinez Harding.
Arkansas Tech finished third, followed by Southwestern Oklahoma State. Back in May, the Golden Suns finished fourth at the NCAA Regional to return to the National Championships for the first time since 2021. Tech brings back three from its lineup that played at the NCAAs in Ellen Spigner, Averi Mickelson and Jaylee Castro. Spigner notched five top 10s, including a win at the Patriot Invitational as she placed on the First Team by unanimous consent. The Bulldogs bring back Freya Sala, who became just their second individual GAC champion. She went on to earn Second Team WGCA All-American honors.
Southern Arkansas edged Oklahoma Baptist for fifth place. Arkansas-Monticello followed in seventh. A season ago, the Muleriders earned their first berth to the NCAA Regionals in program history. The Bison qualified for regionals for the first time since 2019. Morgan Simmons returns after making the All-GAC Honorable Mention Team.
Southeastern Oklahoma State took eighth; Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene shared ninth. East Central rounded out the poll. The Savage Storm features a new head coach in Charlie Mean. The Crimson Storm return Southern Nazarene’s Haley Whittern, who qualified for NCAA Regional play last season. The Tigers brought back their golf program for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
Eight of the 11 schools – Henderson State, Harding, Arkansas Tech, Southern Arkansas, Oklahoma Baptist, UAM, Southeastern Oklahoma State and Southern Nazarene – will tee it up at next week’s Central Region Fall Preview. East Central, Northwestern OKlahoma State and SWOSU will hit the course for the first time in the fall at the Northeastern State Classic.
