NORMAN – The Oklahoma men's golf team has punched its ticket to postseason play for the 13th consecutive season under head coach Ryan Hybl. On Wednesday, the Sooners were awarded the No. 3 seed at the NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional, slated for May 13-15 at The Farms Golf Club.

With the selection, OU has earned a top-three seed in each of the last six years and was the nation's No. 1 overall seed in 2021 and 2022. The event's top five teams and the low individual not on a qualifying team will attend the NCAA Championship, scheduled for May 24-29 at Omni La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.

"It's always exciting to hear your name called and know that you've got more golf to play," head coach Ryan Hybl said. "We're excited to get out to California and go play a really great golf course against high-level competition. Every tournament provides a different test, but I trust our guys will be ready."

The 15th-ranked Sooners will be one of 14 teams competing at The Farms. The 14-team, 54-hole tournament is one of six NCAA Regionals and serves as the preliminary event for the NCAA Championship, which OU has advanced to every year since 2011, the second-longest streak in the nation.

Pac-12 champion and third-ranked Arizona State was awarded the top seed at the regional, followed by No. 10 Washington on the second line and the Sooners at No. 3. Also making the trip to The Farms are top-50 teams in No. 22 Cal, No. 26 Oklahoma State, No. 34 North Florida, No. 38 Chattanooga, No. 46 South Florida and host No. 50 San Diego. Additionally, West Virginia, Kansas, Wright State, Seton Hall and Winthrop will all vie for spots at the NCAA Championship in Rancho Santa Fe.

The Sooners have won two events this season, including the Southern Highlands Collegiate, which featured eight teams from the top 25. In the win over Southern Highlands, OU finished in front of 2024 No. 1 overall seed Auburn, marking the last time the Tigers were defeated by a team. Hybl's team boasts 10 top-five finishes on the season and finished as the runner-up at the Big 12 Championship. Six different Sooners have finished as OU's top player at a tournament this year, highlighted by Luke Kluver's four.

Oklahoma is the winner of six NCAA Regionals in school history, including the 2018 and 2022 NCAA Regionals at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club, paired with titles in 1989, 1995, 2001 and 2015. In addition, Oklahoma is the only school in the country to appear in six of the last seven NCAA Match Play quarterfinals, and the program won the 2017 national championship.

Opened in 1984, The Farms Golf Club is one of the premier golf courses in the Golden State. The original design team featured Pete and Perry Dye, as well as Tommy Jacobs, while John Fought and Tom Lehman orchestrated the 1999 renovation. Located just 16 miles away from Omni La Costa, the site of the 2024 NCAA Championship, the Sooners will get a taste of West Coast golf in advance of where they hope to play later in May.

Tee times for the regional will be available closer to the competition. Live scoring will be provided for the event through Golfstat.
