PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The No. 22 Arkansas women’s golf team teed off the 2022-23 season at the Carmel Cup on Friday, as the Razorbacks currently sit in fourth place with an 11-over-par 371 after one round. The Razorbacks are five strokes behind third-place Oklahoma State (+6) and six ahead of Texas Tech (+17).
Leading the squad is junior Miriam Ayora, who shot an even-par 72 in the first round. Ayora is in a five-way tie for ninth place and logged four birdies on the day, three of which came on her front nine. She is one stroke behind eighth place.
Reagan Zibilski and Ela Anacona follow with a five-way tie for 13th. Zibilski was solid in her collegiate golf debut with a 1-over 73, which was highlighted by four birdies and 10 holes at par. In her senior season, Anacona tallied a team-high five birdies on the day.
Kendall Todd, who also made her Razorback debut, shot a 75 in the first round. Todd was magic in holes four through six, tallying three consecutive birdies. She is a stroke behind a three-way tie for 18th. Kajal Mistry is the fifth Hog to make up the first-round score with a 76.
