RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – On Tuesday, the Great American Conference released the results of the 2025 GAC women’s tennis ballot. Southern Arkansas garnered all five available first-place votes to enter the season as the preseason favorite.

The Muleriders shared the 2024 GAC regular-season title with Southeastern Oklahoma State. They return a pair of All-GAC performers in Amelie Gindl and Josie Holderbach. Gindl went 16-2 in singles play, 13-1 from the No. 3 position and earned the ITA Central Region Rookie of the Year honor. She finished the fall ranked 12th nationally in the ITA rankings. Holderbach posted a 13-1 overall singles record, 9-1 at No. 4. Maria Fiacan went 10-2 in the fall to earn the No. 48 national ranking

Harding finished second, one point ahead of the Savage Storm. Karli Roux, a 2024 First-Team All-GAC selection, returns for her junior season as do Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz and Alexia Zarate Valdez. Both placed on the Second Team a season ago as freshmen.  Zarate Valdez went 8-3 in the fall. She finished the fall ranked 14th nationally.

The Savage Storm won the 2024 GAC Championship for their third-straight title. While they must replace their two First-Team All-GAC honorees – Georgia Hosking and Vanessa Nitu – they return GAC Newcomer of the Year Larissa Giraldi Correa and their two Second Team selections in Amishi Shukla and Milana Voloshyn. Giraldi Correa went 17-4 in doubles contests and 14-12 in singles matches. Shukla went 20-3 in singles play. Voloshyn posted a 16-9 singles record.

Henderson State placed fourth followed by Ouachita Baptist and Arkansas Tech. While the Reddies must replace Mulan Kamoe, the GAC Player of the Year, First-Team selection Kristina Kozlova and Second-Team picks Jenna Bohnert and Angela Georgieva. Kozlova went 13-6 as the Reddies’ No. 2 singles player. Bohnert went 15-5 from the No. 4 position and Georgieva posted a 12-7 singles mark.

The Tigers’ Sadbaroy Kholdarova claimed a unanimous spot to the All-GAC First Team. As a freshman, she went 23-5 overall in singles play, including 7-2 from the No. 1 spot. The Golden Suns bring back Monica Balau, a First-Team All-GAC player. She went 9-6 in singles play, playing primarily in the No. 1 position.

Regular-season play begins on Friday, January 31 as Harding hosts McNeese State. Ouachita Baptist and Southeastern Oklahoma State start on Saturday with matches against Hendrix and Northeastern State, respectively. Arkansas Tech opens at Central Oklahoma on Friday, February 7 and Henderson State begins one day later against Dallas Baptist. The favored Muleriders debut against Central Arkansas on Saturday, February 15.
