RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s and women’s golfers of the week for the seventh week of the fall season. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Matti Zerwin claimed the men’s award and Henderson State’s Felisa Sajulga claimed the women’s honor.
#theGAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Matti Zerwin, So., Northwestern Oklahoma State, Lafayette, Colorado
Zerwin finished third after a playoff at the Newman Fall Invite. Following an opening round of 2-over par 73, he came back with a 5-under 66 to finish in a three-way tie. He made six birdies and eagled the par-5 17th hole to set the school’s single-round scoring record. The Rangers finished in sixth.
#theGAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Felisa Sajulga, Sr.,Henderson State, College Station, Texas
Sajulga paced the Reddies to a 16-shot victory at the Battle for the Belt – their first team title of the season. She finished second by one shot in the individual competition. She opened with a 1-over 73 but followed with a 2-under 70 and an even-par 72. She made 11 birdies and led the field in par-4 scoring, 4.03.
