RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s and women’s golfers of the week for the second week of the fall season. Henderson State’s Jacob Knowlton claimed the men’s accolade and the Reddies’ Lily Nelson won the women’s honor.
#theGAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Jacob Knowlton, Jr., Henderson State, Cabot, Arkansas
Knowlton led the Reddies to a one-stroke victory at the NSU Men’s Golf Classic. He finished in a tie for third in the individual competition. After an opening round of 1-over par 72, he responded with a 4-under 67 and a 5-under 66 to move up from 35th following round one. He made 12 birdies against just three bogeys over his final 36 holes.
#theGAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Lily Nelson, Jr., Henderson State, Commerce City, Colorado
Nelson claimed 12th at the DBU Classic after carding three rounds of par or better. She started with a 1-under round and followed with consecutive even par rounds. She made 16 pars in round two and concluded with a three-birdie, three-bogey final round. The Reddies finished in 10th.
