RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC men’s and women’s cross country runners of the week for the third weekend of the season. East Central’s Donald Kipsang and Winnie Kipsang claimed the honors following their efforts at the Missouri Southern Stampede.

#theGAC MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Donald Kipsang, So., East Central, Eldoret, Kenya
Kipsang placed 12th out of 268 participants after he clocked a career-best 8K time of 24:13.53. He cut almost 10 seconds off of his previous best time. The Tigers finished fourth in the 26-team event that featured three nationally-ranked teams.

#theGAC WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK – Winnie Kipsang, Jr., East Central, Eldoret, Kenya
Kipsang finished fifth overall after she ran a personal-best time of 17:44.3. She broke the 18-minute mark for the third time in six collegiate races. She lowered her personal-best time by more than seven seconds. She led the Tigers to a fourth-place showing.
