RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the fifth men’s track & field athletes of the week for the indoor season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Wheeler and Isaiah Willis claimed the track and field awards, respectively.

#theGAC MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Maxamillian Wheeler, Sr., Oklahoma Baptist, Edmond, Oklahoma
Wheeler placed 11th overall – first amongst Division II runners – in the mile run at the Charlie Thomas Invitational. His time, 4:12.50, represented his personal best for the indoor season. His time ranks as the fastest in the conference and as the 13th-fastest amongst Central Regional athletes.

#theGAC MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Isaiah Willis, Sr., Oklahoma Baptist, Shawnee, Oklahoma
Willis secured an NCAA Provisional mark in the long jump after he recorded a mark of 7.30 meters at the Charlie Thomas Invitational. He finished eighth overall, first among Division II competitors. Additionally, he ran the anchor leg of the Bison’s 4×400-meter relay team that ran an NCAA Provisional time of 3:15.09.
