RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the fourth men’s track & field athletes of the week for the indoor season. Harding’s Olaolu Olatunde claimed the track athlete honor and the Bisons’ Vlad Malykhin earned the field athlete award.

Olatunde registered a pair of NCAA provisional times at the Pittsburg State Invitational. In the 60-meter dash, he turned in a time of 6.77 seconds to finish fifth. In the 200, he ran in 21.53 seconds to finish third. The time represents the fastest in the GAC and ranks 29th nationally.

#theGAC MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Vlad Malykhin, Jr., Harding, Shostka, Ukraine
Malykhin, the two-time NCAA Indoor national champion in the pole vault, established the top clearance in Division II at his first indoor meet of the season.  At the Pittsburg State Invitational, he won the event with a mark of 5.48 meters. His top mark beat the closest competitor by 0.40 meters.
