RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the third men’s track & field athletes of the week for the indoor season. Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Kareem Small won the Track award and Southern Arkansas’ Keith Smith claimed the Field honor.

#theGAC MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kareem Small, Jr., Northwestern Oklahoma State, Spanish Town, Jamaica
At the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational, Small posted a personal-best time of 6.75 seconds in the final of the 60-meter dash. He placed fourth in the event and earned an NCAA Provisional mark. The time ranks as the second-fastest in the GAC and 18th nationally.

#theGAC MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Keith Smith, Jr., Southern Arkansas, Marshall, Texas
Smith took second in the triple jump at the Rumble in the Jungle Invitational. His top effort, 14.74 meters, came on his first attempt. He earned an NCAA Provisional mark. It established a personal best at an indoor meet. It ranks as the top jump in the conference and places 24th in Division II.
