RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the second men’s track & field athletes of the week for the indoor season. Harding’s Olaolu Olatunde won the Track award and the Bisons’ Kelmen de Carvalho earned the Field honor.

In his indoor debut with the Bisons, Olatunde established a program record in the 60-meter dash after he turned in a time of 6.68 seconds at the Samford Invitational. He broke Tad Kirby’s time, 6.80 seconds, set in January 2024. His time earned him an NCAA Provisional mark. It ranks as the fastest in Division II.

#theGAC MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Kelmen de Carvalho, Jr., Harding, Hechingen, Germany
de Carvalho claimed the top spot in the heptathlon at the Samford Invitational. He finished first in the long jump and shot put en route to tallying 5,211 points. He finished almost 300 points clear of second place. His total ranks as the fourth-highest total in Division II.
