RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the volleyball players of the week for the final week of the season. Southern Nazarene’s Kate Wright claimed Offensive Player; Henderson State’s Kaylon Partain earned Defensive Player and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Mackenzie Sims garnered Setter of the Week.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kate Wright, OH, Southern Nazarene, So., Oak Point, Texas
Wright averaged 4.67 kills and 5.17 points per set as the Crimson Storm split their final two matches. In a four-set win against East Central, she tallied 13 kills, 20 digs and hit .306. In a five-set contest against Southeastern Oklahoma State, she established a career-high in kills, 29, while hitting .313. She added 17 digs for his sixth double-double of the season.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kaylon Partain, DS/L, Henderson State, Jr., Atlanta, Texas
Partain paced the GAC with 69 digs, 8.63 per set, as the Reddies clinched a GAC Championships berth. In a five-set win against Arkansas-Monticello, she notched 35 digs. Against Ouachita Baptist, she tallied 34 in three sets, the third-most in a three-set game in Division II this season. She finished the regular season ranked second in Division II in digs per set, 6.10.

#theGAC VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK – Mackenzie Sims, S, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Fr., Amarillo, Texas
Sims averaged 13.71 assists per set in wins against Southeastern Oklahoma State and Northwestern Oklahoma State. Against the Savage Storm, she recorded just the fourth 40-assist game in a three-set contest in the GAC this season. Against the Rangers, she produced the league’s season-high for assists in a four-set match, 56.
