RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the volleyball players of the week for the third week of the 2024 season. Ouachita Baptist swept Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Setter of the Week Emily Adams, Avery Jauz and Courtney Hanson captured the respective awards.
#theGAC VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Emily Adams, RS, Ouachita Baptist, Jr., Arlington, Texas
Adams hit .282 in the Tigers’ five matches last week. She registered four double-digit kill performances, highlighted by 16 against Missouri Southern State. She hit .361 with 15 kills in a four-set victory against Truman State. She averaged 3.37 points per set.
#theGAC VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Avery Jauz, L, Ouachita Baptist, Sr., Midland, Texas
Jauz averaged 5.24 digs per set in contests against Southern Arkansas, Missouri Southern State, Fort Hays State, Truman State and Southwest Baptist. She came up with three 20-dig performances and tallied a season-high 26 digs against Missouri Southern State.
#theGAC VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK – Courtney Hanson, S, Ouachita Baptist, Jr., Arlington, Texas
Hanson dished out 209 assists across the Tigers’ five contests last week. She registered four double-doubles. Against Missouri Southern State and Truman State, she came up with 50-assist double-doubles. She hit .317 with just one attack error. Additionally, she reached the milestone of 100 career aces.
