RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s soccer players of the week for the final week of the 2023 season. Southern Nazarene’s Camdyn Wood and Gianna Bonnett received the Offensive Player and Goalkeeper honors while Ouachita Baptist’s Abbey Inman claimed the Defender award.
#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Camdyn Wood, F, Southern Nazarene, Fr., Frisco, Texas
Wood came up with her first brace of the season and played a role in all three of the Crimson Storm’s goals in their win against Southwestern Oklahoma State. She assisted on Mallory Bennett’s 57th-minute goal that opened the scoring. She scored her first goal of the season in the 63rd minute. Ahead 2-1, she iced the win when she found the back of the net in the 76th minute.#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER DEFENDER OF THE WEEK – Abbey Inman, D, Ouachita Baptist, Jr., Bryant, Arkansas
Inman played the full 90 minutes for the 17th time in 18 games this season as the Tigers closed the regular season with a 2-1 road win against East Central. She played a critical role in a defensive effort that limited ECU to only five shots on goal. She contributed on offense on a second-half free kick that hit the top post and got headed in by Reese Brown to tie the game.#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Gianna Bonnett, GK, Southern Nazarene, So., Eastvale, California
Bonnett turned away 19 shots as the Crimson Storm defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southwestern Oklahoma State to reach 10 wins in a season for the first time since 2014. She made seven saves in a shutout of the Rangers – her seventh of the season. She matched her season high of 12 saves in the 3-1 win against the Bulldogs.OTHERS NOMINATED
