RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s and men’s golfer of the week awards for the eighth week of the fall season. Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Maria Velilla claimed the Women’s honor and the Bulldogs’ Ryan Carlisle earned the Men’s award.

#theGAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Maria Velilla, Fr., Southwestern Oklahoma State, Calatayud, Spain
Velilla led the Bulldogs to an 11-stroke team title at the NCAA Central Regional Preview. She captured the individual title, the first of her career, after carding rounds of 4-over par 76 and even par 72. The 11-shot margin represented the largest tournament victory for the Bulldogs since March 2019.

#theGAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Ryan Carlisle, Sr., Southwestern Oklahoma State, Arapaho, Oklahoma
Carlisle tied for 12th at the Missouri Southern Invitational. After an opening round 6-over in the opening round, he produced his best round of the event, a 4-under 68. The round included three birdies and an eagle. He added two birdies in his final round. He finished as the low Bulldog for the first time this season.
