RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the fifth women’s track & field athletes of the week for the indoor season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Asia Foster claimed the Track award and Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Samantha Wallis won the Field honor.

#theGAC WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Asia Foster, Fr., Oklahoma Baptist, Bridgetown, Barbados
At the Charlie Thomas Invitational, Foster turned in the top GAC time in the 400-meter run this season, 54.50 seconds. She finished eighth, a personal-best effort. She earned an NCAA Provisional mark. She ran the opening leg of the Bison’s 4×400-meter relay team that placed fourth with a time of 3:44.07 that ranks ninth nationally.

#theGAC WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Samantha Wallis, Sr., Southeastern Oklahoma State, Pottsboro, Texas
Wallis posted top-five finishes in the shot put and weight throw at the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Challenge. She took third in the shot put following a career-best effort of 13.55 meters. It ranks as the second-best throw in the GAC this season. She claimed fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 15.81 meters, the second-best of her career.
