RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the fourth women’s track & field athletes of the week for the indoor season. Ouachita Baptist’s Izzi Breaux claimed the Track award and Oklahoma Baptist’s Valerie Olson won the Field honor.

#theGAC WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Izzi Breaux, Jr., Ouachita Baptist, Longview, Texas
Breaux set the school record in the mile at the Pittsburg State Invitational with a time of 5:02.00. She placed fifth in the event. She broke the record by more than five seconds. It ranks as the second fastest time in the GAC this season. She also ran on the Tigers’ Distance Medley Relay squad that took fourth with a time of 12:09.15.

#theGAC WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Valerie Olson, Gr., Oklahoma Baptist, Battle Ground, Washington
Olson set the GAC’s top score in the pentathlon when scored 3,793 points at the Washburn Open. She won the 60-meter hurdles and the high jump. She took second in the long jump and the 800-meter run. She earned an NCAA Provisional mark with a score that ranks sixth in Division II. Her hurdles time, 8.71 seconds, also met the NCAA Provisional standard.
