RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the third GAC women’s track & field athletes of the week recipients. Southern Nazarene swept the honors as Micky McAlexander earned the Track accolade and Lexi Atteberry claimed the field award.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Micky McAlexander, Jr., Southern Nazarene, Reno, Nevada
McAlexander competed in the 60-meter hurdles and the 800-meter run at the JD Martin Invitational. She turned in a personal best in the 800 after she turned in a time of 2:26.41. She finished fourth, second amongst Division II runners. Her time ranks fourth in the GAC. In the 60-meter hurdles, she crossed in 10th with a time of 9.93 seconds.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Lexi Atteberry, Fr., Southern Nazarene, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Atteberry recorded a personal best in the shot put at the JD Martin Invitational. She placed fourth with a mark of 12.96 meters, first among non Division I competitors. Her personal-best effort came on her fourth throw of the event and it moved her up from eighth place. She ranks fifth in the GAC in the event.
