RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s track & field athletes of the week for the second week of the outdoor season. Harding’s Tetiana Kharashchuk earned the track award and Oklahoma Baptist’s Jade Byrd claimed the field honor.

At the Ole Miss Classic, Kharashchuk took first in the 400-meter dash with an NCAA Provisional time of 54.20 seconds in a field that featured 12 Division I runners. She sits atop the Division II chart in the event. Her time ranks as the second-fastest in school history.

#theGAC MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Jade Byrd, Sr., Oklahoma Baptist, Stratford, Oklahoma
Byrd picked up wins in the discus and hammer at the Bethel College Open. In the discus, she achieved an NCAA Provisional mark with a top effort of 48.02 meters. Her mark ranks second in Division II. In the hammer, she led a 1-2 finish for the Bison with a throw of 50.78 meters.
