RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s soccer players of the week for the eighth week of the 2024 season. East Central swept the honors as Kaylee Bruce won Offensive Player, Ximena Resendiz claimed Defender and Madison Mayhall earned Goalkeeper of the Week.

#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kaylee Bruce, F, East Central, Sr., Cambridge, Ontario, Canada
Bruce recorded her first game-winning goal of the season with her 28th-minute goal against Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday. She converted a pass from Emily Cavazos. The victory gave the Tigers their first win against the Bulldogs since April 3, 2021.

#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER DEFENDER OF THE WEEK – Ximena Resendiz, D, East Central, Jr., Mesquite, Texas
Resendiz played all 180 minutes in the Tigers’ wins against Northwestern Oklahoma State and Southwestern Oklahoma State. The Tigers limited the Rangers to nine shots on goal. Three days later, the Tigers kept the Bulldogs to seven shots on goal. The Tiger defense has registered three shutouts in their last four games.

#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK –Madison Mayhall, GK, East Central, Fr., Forney, Texas
Mayhall secured two shutout wins as the Tigers moved to within two points of first place with three games remaining. Against Northwestern Oklahoma State, she made nine saves in a 1-0 victory. She followed up with seven saves in a 2-0 victory against Southwestern Oklahoma State. Her five shutouts rank second in the conference.
