RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s soccer players of the week for the ninth week of the 2024 season. Harding’s Whitney Thomas and Skylar Henley claimed Offensive Player and Defender of the Week while East Central’s Madison Mayhall earned Goalkeeper of the Week.

#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Whitney Thomas, F, Harding, Jr., Benbrook, Texas
Thomas registered the second brace of her career – first this season – in the Lady Bisons’ 3-0 win at Northwestern Oklahoma State. In the 53rd minute, she scored the game’s first goal on a cross from Kloey Fullerton. She added her second goal with a 62nd-minute tally when she converted a rebound to give the Lady Bisons a 2-0 lead.

#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER DEFENDER OF THE WEEK – Skylar Henley, D, Harding, Fr., Bedford, Texas
Henley helped the Lady Bisons earn a 3-0 road victory against Northwestern Oklahoma State that moved them into first place with three matches remaining. She played 82 minutes and anchored a defense that limited the Rangers to seven shots on goal as part of the Lady Bisons’ fourth shutout of the season.

#theGAC WOMEN’S SOCCER GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK –Madison Mayhall, GK, East Central, Fr., Forney, Texas
Mayhall repeated as GAC Goalkeeper of the Week after she surrendered only one goal across draws against Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene. She came up with a career-high 12 saves – 10 in the second half – of a scoreless tie against the Bison. She earned her sixth shutout of the season. She made six saves in a 1-1 tie against the Crimson Storm.
