RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the women’s tennis player of the week for the third week of the 2025 season. Harding’s Alexia Zarate Valdez won after collecting a pair of singles wins.

Zarate Valdez, ranked No. 14 in the most recent ITA singles rankings, improved to 3-2 in spring singles matches after she
earned wins against No. 5 Midwestern State’s Hannah Yip and Central Oklahoma’s Nefeli Zafeiri. She dropped the first set to
Yip but rallied for 6-4, 6-2 victories in sets two and three. She split the first two sets against Zafeiri then won set three, 6-1.
