RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the eighth GAC women’s track & field athletes of the week recipients. Harding’s Leila Ngapout earned the Track honor and her teammate, Erika Konovalenko, claimed the field accolade.

#theGAC TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Leila Ngapout, Jr., Harding, Fairview, Texas
At the Hendrix College Open, Ngapout led a 1-2 finish for the Lady Bisons in the 400-meter dash. She won with a personal-record time of 58.23 seconds, close to one second ahead of Carabeth Hill. Her time ranks the 11th-fastest in Division II.

#theGAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Erika Konovalenko, Fr., Harding, Kherson, Ukraine
Konovalenko secured a victory in the javelin at the Hendrix College Open after she delivered an effort of 45.67 meters on her final attempt of the meet. She won by more than nine meters. She surpassed the NCAA Provisional mark by more than three meters.
