LUBBOCK, Texas — University of Oklahoma juniors Madison Langley-Walker and Kristo Simulask represented the Sooners at the Texas Tech Invitational and Multis in Lubbock, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 29-30. 

Langley-Walker earned a fifth-place finish in the women’s pentathlon with 3,824 points. Her finish moved her from No. 5 to No. 4 on OU’s all-time top-10 list. The junior from Philadelphia took third in the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line at 8:58. She then went on to claim second and a personal-best 5-9.25 (1.76m) in the high jump. The third event within multis competition was shot put, and Langley-Walker threw a tied personal-best 29-6 (8.99m). Langely-Walker went on to take fifth in long jump, leaping 18-5.75 (5.63m). She completed competition with a personal-best 2:29.94 in the 800-meter dash, earning fifth place. 

On the men’s side of the multis action, Simulask concluded day one competition in fifth place with 3,083 points. He began day one with the 60-meter dash, running 7.13, taking sixth. His next three events were long jump, shot put and high jump, finishing in fifth, fourth and fifth, respectively. The Sooner leaped 22-11.75 (7.00m) in the long jump and threw for 42-0.75 (12.82m) in shot put. He concluded day one with a 6-5.5 (1.97m) mark in the high jump. Simulask began day two with the 60-meter hurdles, crossing the line at 8.64 and sixth place. He did not record a height in the pole vault or compete in the 1,000 meters.
