RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. –  Ouachita Baptist owns the lead in the race for the Great American Conference All-Sports Commissioner’s Cup and the President’s Trophy following the fall sports seasons. The Tigers lead Harding, the three-time All-Sports champion, by 1.5 points for the Commissioner’s Cup and by almost three percentage points for the President’s Trophy.

The Tigers claimed regular-season titles in women’s soccer – the first in school history – and their seventh football title. They added the program’s second win at the Women’s Cross Country Championships. After trying for fourth in volleyball, they won their first GAC Championship. The men’s cross country team placed fourth.

Harding shared the football regular-season title with the Tigers. The men’s cross country team finished runner up at the GAC Championship. The Lady Bisons took second in volleyball and women’ soccer.

East Central claimed third in both standings. In Ada, they collected their 10th win at the GAC Men’s Cross Country Championships while the women finished third. The volleyball team recorded their best finish in program history, third.

Oklahoma Baptist sits fourth in the Commissioner’s Cup standings while Southeastern Oklahoma State owns fourth in the President’s Trophy standings. The Bison registered top-four finishes in men’s and women’s cross country, volleyball and women’s soccer. The Savage Storm finished in the top six in each of their three fall sports – women’s cross country, football and volleyball.

Southern Arkansas ranks fifth in the Commissioner’s Cup buoyed by their third-straight nine-win football season. Fueled by their fourth runner-up showing at the Women’s Cross Country Championships in the last five years, Arkansas Tech finished the fall in sixth in the President’s Cup.

Southwestern Oklahoma State captured the program’s first regular-season title in women’s volleyball. They rank eighth in both standings.

Northwestern Oklahoma State, Henderson State, Southern Nazarene and Arkansas-Monticello round out the standings.

The GAC determines the winner of the Commissioner’s Cup to the GAC school that totals the most cumulative points in the 14 countable sports of men’s and women’s cross country, football, volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s tennis, men’s women’s track & field, men’s and women’s golf, softball and baseball while the President’s Trophy goes to the program that earns the highest percentage of points based on the sports they sponsor.
