Athletes Unlimited (AU) Professional Softball offers players who have completed their NCAA eligibility to continue playing at the professional level. Each week, players are drafted to teams by captains who are the top point leaders in the previous week. Athletes earn individual points for playing in a game such as scoring a run, getting a base hit, stealing a base, getting a home run, or getting a base on balls. Pitchers can earn points by getting an out but lose points for each run allowed. Catchers can earn points by throwing a runner out but lose points if a runner successfully steals. OU fans may recognize AU players such as Caleigh Clifton, Sydney Romero, Nicole Mendes, Shannon Saile and Jocelyn Alo.
Danielle Gibson, former Razorback, and Carrie Eberle, former Cowgirl, are also on this year’s roster.
This year, there will be 18 AUX softball games June 13 through 25. All of these games will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPNU, or ESPN2. See the schedule below.
