OKLAHOMA CITY (City of OKC) — The City of Oklahoma City and USA Softball broke ground today on the Choctaw Nation Fieldhouse, a top-tier indoor softball practice facility located on the west side of Devon Park, 2801 NE 50th St.
The 30,000-square-foot, split-level brick building will help secure Devon Park as the home of the NCAA Women’s College World Series beyond 2035.
The new Fieldhouse includes two indoor practice infields, team locker rooms and areas for sports medicine, player development and administration. An enclosed, climate‑controlled connection will link the Fieldhouse to the stadium, allowing staff, coaches and players to move between the buildings without exposure to weather.
The project also includes an enhanced stadium entrance featuring brick columns and shade structures. The $21 million Fieldhouse project is funded through the OKC 2025 Bond.
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce contributed $8 million for stadium improvements, including new chairback seating, improved practice fields, upgraded sound system and protective features.
“This will be a premier softball performance training facility that continues to grow the softball community nationally,” Public Works Director Debbie Miller said. “Our goal is for this to be designated as a United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee training site and to help secure Oklahoma City as the home of the NCAA Women’s College World Series beyond 2035.”
Two practice infields will allow both teams to practice simultaneously while remaining fully separated so they don’t interact with each other.
The building’s lower level will house the practice areas and team support spaces. Each indoor field will have a dedicated team locker room with direct field access. Additional spaces on the lower level will include sports medicine rooms, a weight room and a laundry area.
The Architect of Record is STUDIO Architecture, and DLR Group is the sports design expert. Timberlake Construction is the contractor. The project is expected to take 18 months to build.

The $2.7 billion 2025 Bond program includes 547 projects, 433 of which are investments in streets, bridges and traffic improvements. Work funded through the bond is expected to continue through 2036.
