#theGAC SOFTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (WEEK EIGHT)

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the softball players of the week for the eighth week of the 2024 season. Southern Arkansas’ Jenna Huey garnered Player of the Week and Harding’s Abby Burch claimed Pitcher of the Week.

#theGAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jenna Huey, 1B, Southern Arkansas, Jr., Rimrock, ArizonaHuey went 4-for-8 in a doubleheader sweep of Delta State and 7-for-10 in a series against Oklahoma Baptist. Against Delta State, she hit a grand slam and a three-run home run in game one, followed by a solo home run in game two. She registered three multi-hit games against the Bison and drove in a run in all three games.

#theGAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Abby Burch, RHP, Harding, Sr., Romance, ArkansasIn five appearances, Burch earned three wins and picked up a save as the Lady Bisons extended their win streak to 15. Against Union, she pitched 8.0 scoreless innings and won both ends of the doubleheader. She threw a five-hit shutout and earned a save against Northwestern Oklahoma State. She produced a 0.93 ERA across 15.0 innings inside the circle.
