RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the softball weekly award winners for the fifth week of the 2025 season. East Central’s Jami Watson garnered Player of the Week while Southern Arkansas’ Brinson Rogers earned Pitcher of the Week.

#theGAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Jami Watson, C/DP, East Central, Sr., Austin, Texas
Watson paced the Tigers to a series sweep against Northwestern Oklahoma State after she hit .429 across the three-game set. In game one, she went 2-for-4 with two walks. She doubled, scored twice and drove in two runs. In game three, she registered the first four-hit game of her career and she drove in a career-high five runs. She raised her season average 83 points to .262.

#theGAC SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Brinson Rogers, RHP,  Southern Arkansas, Sr., Statesboro, Georgia
Rogers picked up her third Pitcher of the Week honor of the year after she earned two wins in SAU’s sweep of Arkansas Tech. She struck out 19 batters in 14.0 innings of work – including a season-high matching 12 in the series finale. The Mulreriders claimed their series win against Arkansas Tech since 2018 and their first sweep against the Golden Suns since 2013.
