RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the softball players of the week for the opening week of the 2024 season. Southern Arkansas’ Regan Dillon claimed Player of the Week while Arkansas Tech’s Bradi Basler and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Blaire Gentry shared Pitcher of the Week.

Dillon helped the Muleriders pick up three wins at the Mardi Gras Invitational. She homered in each of their wins, including two against Delta State in the opener. She drove in seven for the week including three against both Delta State and Augustana. She posted a .429 average with five runs scored at the tournament.
#theGAC SOFTBALL CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Bradi Basler, RHP, Arkansas Tech, Jr., Lansing, Kansas
Basler earned the win in all three of the Golden Suns’ victories at the D2 First Pitch Invitational. She struck out four in a five-inning complete game win against Texas Woman’s. She followed up with nine strikeouts against zero walks in a 7-2 win against Saint Martin’s. She defeated No. 17 Wingate when she struck out four and again did not walk a batter.
#theGAC SOFTBALL CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Blaire Gentry, RHP, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., Lockesburg, Arkansas
Gentry won two games and posted a 0.51 ERA as the Bulldogs split their opening four contests of the season. In her SWOSU debut, she shut out Northeastern State, 1-0, on Friday. She gave up only five singles and did not allow a runner to reach second base after the first inning. She threw 4.0 scoreless innings of relief in an 8-3 win against Northwest Missouri State.
