2024 – Playing, singing and Supporting Live Music
Well, I don’t whine much. And I am not trying to pass blame.
BUT! As much as I appreciate my 3% raise in SS check, I am seeing 15% and even 30% raise in necessary supplies and health care. The longer I last, the behinder I git. But I have hope, faith and compassion for the families struggling. Just a heads up. There are resources available out there. Food, clothing and some help with bills. Charity should be in all of us. If ya have too much, don’t be afraid to share with others. If you need, don’t be afraid or too proud to ask for assistance. We gotta support each other ‘cause it don’t seem to be lettin’ up anytime soon. I do not like the path this world is slipping down. Be the change that you wanna see in others.
OK, just a quick heads up on a gathering next month on the 15th. No secret that I am in recovery and I try to support everything I can. Being a very small part of the Howe 6:33 program, where I see men in a year long rise or fall opportunity, Please consider coming to the Friends of the Ranch Celebration. There will be Live Music, BBQ and a guy that I am proud to call my friend. Matt will be the keynote speaker with an encouraging and uplifting message of Hope. More info soon.After all the hoop-a-law on NYE, the folks that like to dance and listen will still be heading out. Not as many as when the outside stages are in play, but enough to go ‘round.
Live Music the week: The 906 lounge is in for a treat. Al Grzech and Niki Waters will provide dinner music on Friday 12th at 8pm. Al is awesome when he plays solo, He enjoys backing up one of the best singers in this area. Niki covers several genres and decades of torch songs and pop hits. It’s a great way to spend an evening of dining and enjoying the duo.Ft. Smith Senior Activity Center-Cavaugh Rd. will have “The Lawman Band” on Friday 12th. The dance starts at 7pm. It’s nice to see that this band is back on stage. They are entertaining and will cover a lot of your favorites.
“The Shady Oak Tribadours” have a busy weekend at La Huertas. Friday 12th at the Garrison St. La Huertas at 6-9 pm. Then back across the state line at the La Huertas in Poteau same time, 6-9pm. Great band!
“Make it a Double” will be at Dawn’s Diner/Red Oak on Friday 12th. And Keith Ingram will be there Sat. 13th. Both bands play from 7-10 pm.
January 13th, “Gopher Run” will keep the crowd jumping and Jiving on the big dance floor on Muldrow City Limits. They are having the biggest crowds so get there early. Music kicks off at 7pm.That is all I got. Take care of each other. Text me at 918-649-5736 or tj.wiles at outlook.com
