I apologize! But it appears that I have too much live music to share this week that I will be unable to write about me, much. No long rambling flowery tirades on how much music I made thru the years.

Taylor’s Inn! I was just thinking bout an article that I wrote about their Sat. Night Dances and realized that it was the biggest thing going on with Live Music in LeFlore County for years. Folks would drive cars, ride horses and tie’em up behind the steakhouse, hide their pints in the stacks of stovewood and go in to grab a pardner and cut a rug. There was an excitement of the weekend. One nite to look forward to cut loose. Now, Live Music can be heard nearly every night. All kinds, meals included, dancin’ optional. Lotta events outside so we need good weather. It is Springtime in SE Oklahoma tho. Give us a break Mother Nature.

Upcoming events- The Wright Family Gospel singing will be later in the month. Sat. May 17th, J.B. Lloyd will host the Musicians Reunion and invite several bands and special guest. Info soon on bands. The event will be held at the Two Twenty Event Park(Formally known as the Pocket Park) on Dewey Ave, Downtown Poteau. Check out The Dewey District on fb to get more info on this Spring’s events. Crocky’s Cafe/Hackett has started back with Live Music on Friday and Sat. AND the 4th Annual Crawdad boil will be on Sat. 11th. “Chaotic Resemblance” will be headed to Germany for a 3 week tour. Their fb page has all the details. This award winning Christian Metal band has roots in Poteau. Always sharing the message of Christ. Prayers for a safe journey. “Hillbilly Vegas” is getting ready for their tour of England and Scotland in July. I am excited ‘bout the 2025 PHS All-class Reunion on Labor Day Weekend. “Sierra Bravo”-Billy Ray Hoffman and Scott Francis will be playing on Sat. 29th for the Dance after the dinner. There will be a Pirate Party on Friday Nite too. Poss Adams will host and Larry Taylor will carry and set up the sound system. Check out the PHS Alumni fb page for more

Monroe’s Old Timers Day will be on Sat. May 3rd. It is a gathering of several generations of Monroe families, friends, neighbors and an outlaw or two. This event takes place after the Friday Community reunion supper and Pie Auction held at the school cafeteria. There will be food involved Sat. and you will need a lawn chair. First show is from 11am-2pm for the lunch crowd. Then the Supper show from 7-10pm. Great gig that will showcase this band. “Rhythm Coalition” will perform their eclectic set of tunes at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Garrison Ave. This Large annual family event doesn’t always happen on the same day as the Steel

Horse Rally but this year the two crowds can mix and mingle. There is food and games, a couple of stages and “Rhythm Coalition” will close out the evening on stage from 7:30 til 11pm. Their music covers Country, Red Dirt, Blues, R&B and some well written originals. Songs for all ages. Catch their show. Check out Melissa Woodall’s Live Music Lineup-Eye on Ft.
