A personal injury accident occurred January 16, 2021, at approximately 6:24 PM on US-59 approximately two tenths of a mile south of Church Street in Hodgen in LeFlore County.
According to the OHP report, Royce Green of Muldrow was northbound in a 2004 Nissan SUV when the rear tire blew out causing it to depart the roadway to the right. Green then overcorrected causing the vehicle to overturn. Green was transported by Life Flight to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR, and listed in stable condition with a head injury.
The front seat passenger, Jorden Nelson, from Springdale, AR, was transported by Leflore County EMS to Mena Regional Hospital and listed in stable condition with trunk internal injuries. A second passenger, Julia Cureton, from Mena, AR, was not injured.
The accident was investigated by OHP Troop D with assistance from Hodgen Fire Department, LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office, and Heavener Police Department.
