Accident Sends 3 to Hospitals Featured

According to a report filed by OHP, a personal injury collision occurred on February 4, 2021, at 11:57 AM on US Highway 271, 2.25 miles North of Panama in LeFlore County.

Christen Langdell of Bokoshe was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer eastbound on State Highway 31. Donald McAlvain of Stigler was driving a 2016 Ford Edge southbound on US Highway 271.

Langdell failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by the Edge. She was ejected 40 feet onto the center median. She was transported by Mercy Life Flight to St. Johns in Tulsa, OK with multiple injuries.

McAlvain was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy in Fort Smith, AR for head and neck injuries. His passenger, Sharon McAlvain also of Stigler was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy in Fort Smith, AR for head and neck injuries.

Seatbelts were not in use in either vehicle.

The accident was investigated by OHP and assisted by LeFlore County Sheriff’s Department, Panama Police Department, Bokoshe Fire Department and LeFlore County EMS.
