According to the report filed by OHP, an accident four miles west of Wister on US-271 sent one man by Airevac to St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs with leg and internal injuries. He was admitted in critical condition.
The OHP reports that a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Jeremy Furr, of Yukon, Oklahoma, failed to yield from a stop sign on Pocahontas Road and was struck by a 2018 Ram pickup driven by Kyle Carson, of Alba, Texas. Neither Carson nor his passengers, Camacho Padron from Cipriano, Mexico, and Juan Torres, from Alba, Texas, were injured.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Michael Scantling of the Leflore/Latimer County detachment, of Troop D who was assisted by Trooper Ryan Williams, Wister Fire Department, Leflore County EMS, and Airevac.
