Ya know , if ya want it to rain , and please Lord don’t misunderstand , I think we are ok in that rain department in LeFlore Co. right now. Anyway , for rain = plan a picnic , warsh the car , water the garden or plan an outside music event ! Now we are above average in purty weekends this year but postponing the Musicians Reunion 2 last Sat. was a good call . There was an inch of rain in Poteau about the time folks would have been setting up lawnchairs !
My Superintendent , Tony White , said that the weather channel was turning us into Cowards . Ya know , don’t worry bout that dark cloud , just order the concrete ! But when there are , at least $20,000 of sound , lights and guitars on stage , it is a lil’ different . NOT to mention , 4-5 delicate musicians that might catch their deaths of cold !

The Musician’s ReUnion has been rescheduled for Friday , July 30th ! And , as it turns out , Earl Hearon is back in the lineup . No lil’ head cold is gonna keep him down ! So it will be the same backline - Wesley Trout , Robert Wright , Harley Sorrels with J.B. Lloyd and Earl Hearon sharing centerstage ! Make plans to be there !

I am happy to announce that Terry Barnes is happy to announce that he is part of a newly formed band , The All Star Revue ! Terry and I have played together in several bands thru the years . He has been a great influence for meon stage . Attitude , arrangements , personality and maximum effort applied ! So when he tells me he is proud of the music that they are making , I gladly give my endorsement !
After lockdown , several bands have gone their own ways so there were really good musicians looking for the next chance in a working band . Looking at their bios on the All Star Revue fb page , it is easy to see why the “all star” fits these guys so well ! I featured Terry in this article #89 and #90 back in Oct. 2020 . He is a friend and a first class musician . I’ll repost that interview .
But I will meet the other members for the first time when they play in Muldrow at the I-40 Music Hall on Sept, 11th ! They have been playing most of their lives and still enjoy being on stage ! This area is blessed that they have settled here ! And if you enjoy live music , then you have heard or danced to their music . All are seasoned veterans and have been the opener or part of the band for just about every Country star that you can name ! Check out their fb page and bios ! If interested , I can get info mailed to you . If interested in booking them , I’ll hook ya up !
Anyway , the other members are - Gerry Baze , San Diego now Sallisaw , Singer/songwriter/guitar . One of his songs , Why Not Try Loving Me , received a gold record ! Gerry Baze and Touch of Country was an award winning band in the San Diego and L.A. areas . Voted Top Band and Top male vocalist by the California Country Music Association . He brings all of his experience to All Star Revue .
Jerry Staggs ,hails from Missouri but settled in Ft. Smith in the middle 90’s . Great singer and rhythm player , he has played around the area and like the other members has been in bands that opened for a long list of popular performers . He brings a lotta talent and experience to the band.

Wesley Trout Bass/rhythm guitar/drummer comes our way from years in Branson , playing 3-4 shows a day . That’s just the steady gigs . He has been in opening acts and in touring bands with a list of Country’s top stars . Just met Wesley and got a small sample of his talents . He will be the drummer for J.B. and Earl at the Musician’s Reunion 2 in Poteau . I’m looking forward to playing with him . He is a very humble and very likeable musician with a lotta great stories bout life on the roads with the stars ! He will be handling the bass duties for All Star Revue .

And Dale Bates on GUITAR ! His reputation precedes him ! It is hard to do any of these guys justice in just a few words but here goes . Most of his career was in Nevada , and I mean the showrooms of Las Vegas , Reno and Lake Tahoe . He has been the lead guitar picker for Grammy Winner Joe Nichols ! So his talent added to the other top-notch musicians entitles them to wear the title “All Star Revue” proudly and live up to it ! Can't wait to hear them . Right now the first gig is Sept. 11th , My Mother Wanda’s Birthday by the way , at I-40 Music Hall in Muldrow !

Hope to see ya there !

Grannie’s Nightmare will be rocking on Sat. the 24th at La Heurtas on Garrison . It’s a great place to get a meal and enjoy these guys outside on the veranda . The weather looks like it’s gonna be a lil’ warm but dry ! Music will start at 6 pm and go til 9 pm !

The Wright Family farm will be full of lawnchairs and good ole Gospel music ! Kyler will be on the front porch singing this Sat. evening , the 24th , bout 6 pm ! His backup band will be Robert and Rochelle . The Wright Family sings in the area churches but this lawnchair event is their favorite . Kyler’s special guest will be Jan Cook and the Scott Sisters !

Oklahoma Moon will be at the Ft. Smith Activity Center this Friday Nite at 7 pm . Then on Sat the 24th , just down the road on 71 S at Brannon’s Pub and Grill . Music starts at 7 pm !

Til next time ! To give or get info , call 918-647-5736 or tj.wiles61@outlook.com !Support Live Music #128 --- LeFlore Co, Area By Terry Joe Wiles
