POTEAU, OKLAHOMA – America by Bicycle made a stop in Poteau on May 14, 2018 as part of their 2800-mile tour across America.
America by Bicycle made a stop in Poteau two years ago and they continue this tradition this year.
They started in Costa Mesa California with the final destination Savanna Georgia. The riders come from all parts of the world.
On Monday, Karen Wages with Poteau Chamber spoke to cyclist on the tour who have come as far as Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Australia, Washington, Virginia, Florida, Alabama, Oregon, & Ohio.
“We gave them the short speech about our area and the official,” said Wages, she also presented them with “World’s Highest Hill/Poteau Balloon Fest Bracelet” which coordinates with their race attire.
America by Bicycle was founded in 1994 to take cyclists on first-class, fully-supported, long-distance bicycle tours. America by Bicycle was founded by cyclists for cyclists.
