April Fool’s Day is celebrated every year on April 1.
It is the one time of year you are allowed to play tricks and pranks on loved ones and friends. And not got to jail. Now tricks and pranks should be funny and only go so far. So be a cool fool this year. Let’s not have another “War of the Worlds” Fiasco. Just keep in mind that the many old dial-up phone pranks do NOT translate well to this cellphone age. Ya know, the old”Is your Icebox runnin’?” kind. Newspaper ads and articles were very creative. Like the Baseball pitcher with a fastball of 168mph, or weevils in spaghetti trees ruining the harvest in Switzerland, or the “Taco Liberty Bell’ prank, the Left-handed Whopper. But my favorite prank that reached millions in 1962- If ya stretched a nylon stocking over a b&w TV to convert it to color! Many stockings were ruined in this joke. Many more to google if ya want. But enjoy the holiday, remember that it is a legal holiday and that the bank’s and Post Offices will be closed. See what I did there? Gotcha! April Fools!
Just a quick ponder about being older, I mean experienced. “Ya don’t tug on Superman’s cape, ya don’t spit into the wind, Ya don’t take the mask offa the ole Lone Ranger and ya don’t mess around with Jim. Two things from my experience- Do Not put the bottle of nasal spray next to the bottle of Gorilla glue! And don’t keep the hair spray next to the spray deodorant. That one causes your hair to smell better but ya can’t raise your arms. More will be revealed.
