According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Mulberry Arkansas man was killed in a one vehicle accident on May 24, 2019, at approximately 2:00pm on Interstate 40 eastbound at mile marker 330 exit ramp approximately 5 miles east of Roland in Sequoyah County.

 

According to the report Francis Edward Jolly, 79, of Mulberry was driving a 2013 Mercedes Benz Convertible 990 SL exited the eastbound ramp, failed to stop at stop sign, crossed State Highway 64-D, went into a ditch, impacted several trees and came to rest on its top.

Jolly was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 50 minutes before being extricated by Roland Fire Department.

Jolly was pronounced deceased at the scene by Pafford EMS.

The accident was investigated by OHP, Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department and Roland Fire Department.
