On Thursday, July 18, Carl Albert State College and Cameron Public Schools officially signed their agreement on Cameron’s use of the CASC Mick Thompson Gym for the 2019-2020 basketball season.
In August 2017 a fire in the gymnasium of Cameron Public Schools left the district without facilities to practice and host basketball games. Since the fire, CASC and Cameron Public Schools have maintained an annual agreement that will allow Cameron athletes the use of CASC’s Mick Thompson Gym for their upcoming basketball season.
CASC President Dr. Jay Falkner, and Athletic Director Randy Graves, joined the Cameron Public School Superintendent John Long, and High School Principal Ken Whitehead to sign the agreement.
“We have quality facilities here at CASC and are glad to offer Cameron Public Schools a ‘home’ throughout their upcoming basketball season,” said Graves.
Superintendent Long expressed appreciation on behalf of Cameron Public Schools that CASC is opening its doors to the Cameron basketball teams again this season.
He also expressed anticipation for good crowds at the games and said senior citizens will continue to attend games free of charge. Within the agreement, CASC students and employees will also be allowed free admission with a current CASC I.D.
