Press release

Carl Albert State College has been named No. 11 in the Nation among 2-year colleges with the best 3-year graduation rates, according The Almanac,a publication of The Chronicle of Higher Education.

The Chronicle of Higher Education has the nation’s largest newsroom dedicated to covering colleges and universities, according to its website. As the unrivaled leader in higher education journalism, The Chronicle serves its readers with indispensable real-time news and deep insights, plus essential tools, career opportunities, and knowledge to succeed in a rapidly changing world for college administrators.

The Chronicle’s award-winning journalism is well-known at colleges and universities: More than 2 million people visit its website every month, and 1,650 organizations across the country make its journalism available to every one of their employees and students. The newsroom is home to top experts in higher education who contribute to the ongoing conversation on the issues that matter, according to its website.

Students at two-year public institutions were more likely, than those enrolled at colleges in other sectors, to stay enrolled at the first institution beyond the normal completion period. Students at for-profit colleges were the least likely to transfer out, according to The Almanac.

“We are honored to be recognized by The Chronicle of Higher Education,” said Jay Falkner, President of CASC, “for our outstanding graduation rates. This accomplishment is a testament to the committed faculty and staff members we have on our campus sites who work so diligently to ensure the success of our students.”
