Carl Albert State College is proud to announce the addition of Kaitlyn Morris to the Viking family. Morris will serve as the coach for the new competitive cheerleading program. Morris is a native of Poteau, graduating from Poteau High School in 2016. A lifelong cheerleader and lover of the sport, Morris cheered for Poteau High School as well as a competitive team based in Fort Smith.

Morris graduated in December 2020 from Oklahoma State University after earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting.

“I am so excited to be back in Leflore County and to have the opportunity to build a cheerleading program that will make CASC and our community proud!” said Morris.

“We are excited to bring competitive cheer to the Carl Albert campus,” said Randy Graves, Vice President of Student Affairs/Athletics Director. “This just adds another layer of excitement, engagement, and energy to our student body. We’re looking forward to the program taking off under Kaitlyn’s leadership.”

To join the team, applicants must be a full time CASC student for the 2021-22 academic year, and must remain in good academic standing. High school or competitive cheer experience is preferred, but not required. Email kemorris@carlalbert.edu for more info!
