CASC Hosts Area Students for 2019 Scholastic Meet Featured

The annual Scholastic Meet at Carl Albert State College was held on March 26, 2019 on the Poteau campus.

 

Approximately 900 students from across the region were on campus to compete in various educational categories. The event was orchestrated by the CASC Enrollment Management department. CASC Enrollment Management Assistant Leah Culwell said, “This year’s Scholastic Meet exceeded all of our expectations!”

 

“It was rewarding for me to see the positive connections made between students, sponsors, and Carl Albert State College” Culwell continued, “I couldn’t be more thankful for the ones who helped make this event a successful experience and I am grateful for the encouraging feedback from those who participated. I look forward to being a part of this event for years to come.”

 

Schools in attendance were Arkoma, Battiest, Bokoshe, Buffalo Valley, Cameron, Central, Clayton, Dewar, Eagletown, Gans, Haworth, Heavener, Howe, Idabel, Keota, LeFlore, McCurtain, Muldrow, Okmulgee, Panama, Panola, Porum, Poteau, Preston, Red Oak, Smithville, Spiro, Stilwell, Stuart, Valliant, Vian, Whitesboro, Wilburton, Wister, and Wright City.


Overall Scholastic Meet Results for 2019 are listed below.


Classification 1: First place – Smithville. Second place - Wright City. Third place – LeFlore.
Classification 2: First place – Preston. Second place – Haworth. Third place – Wister.
Classification 3: First place – Muldrow. Second place – Poteau. Third place – Valliant.
