The Carl Albert State College Speech and Debate team competed at the Oklahoma Interstate Forensics State Tournament held at Oklahoma City University on February 28th and 29th.

CASC competitors included Curtsie Pace (Heavener), and Lucinda Roberts (Yanush).

Roberts placed 5th in Prose Interpretation, receiving a medal, and Pace finished in the top 11 in Poetry Interpretation.

“This tournament is highly competitive,” said CASC Speech & Debate coach, Shirley Harrod Yandell.  “This is the annual state tournament—where our students are competing against juniors and seniors from four-year universities in the state.  They represented us well.”

The CASC Speech & Debate Team is a club/organization open to CASC students enrolled in six or more credit hours per semester.  The club welcomes anyone interested in developing their public speaking skills to their weekly meetings.
